  • The Position: Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Program Assistant will provide support in the development, supervision and evaluation of a wide range of aquatics-related programs including youth and recreation lessons, swim teams, lap swim, recreational swimming, swim meets, camps and classes for various age groups. The position also requires organizing and conducting special events, scheduling and training volunteers and part-time staff, and performing other related work as assigned.

    Time: Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Typical Duties:
     Enforces rules and regulations.
     Works with patrons to maintain safety in and around the water.
     Assists with Department-wide special events.
     Responds to patrons needing assistance, and administering First Aid, CPR/AED as necessary.
     Maintains clean and safe areas around pools.
     Prepares promotional materials.
     Assists with program and event set up, implementation, and clean up as necessary.
     Plans and leads aquatics related trainings.
     Works with When-To-Work staff scheduling system.
     Works with registration software.
     Handles cash and daily reconciliations.
     Other Aquatics-related duties as assigned.
